The Nigerian Communications Commission has been ranked among the top three ministries, departments and agencies of the Federal Government for 2025 by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the commission emerged as one of the best-performing MDAs after being honoured with the Best Website Performance ranking for 2025.
The recognition came barely three weeks after the telecommunications regulator was also named among the top five best-performing federal government agencies for 2025 by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council.
In the latest ranking, the NCC placed second, behind Galaxy Backbone Limited, which emerged first, while the Nigeria Export Promotion Council secured third position.
The ranking was drawn from an assessment of 235 ministries, departments and agencies of the Federal Government.
The Bureau of Public Service Reforms said it deployed 14 evaluation criteria in arriving at the ranking.
The criteria included compliance with the .gov.ng domain name, website appearance and aesthetics, content quality, relevance to the agency’s mandate and government policy, and website structure.
“Others include website’s responsiveness (device compatibility), security, load time, usability/ease of navigation, availability/uptime, functionality, interactivity, accessibility and capacity building.
“The recognition was announced at the official release of federal government 2024/2025 Scorecard Ranking for MDAs’ Website, while the award presentation took place at BPSR’s Office,” the statement said.
The statement added that the award served as an important index metric under the National e-Government Masterplan for assessing Nigeria’s e-government status.
It further stated that the award was received by the commission in recognition of its commitment to maintaining a world-class website that enhances service delivery to citizens.
The Executive Commissioner, Technical Services, Nigerian Communications Commission, Abraham Oshadami, received the award on behalf of the commission.
Oshadami expressed appreciation to the Bureau of Public Service Reforms for the recognition.
He described the award as another motivation for the commission to continue improving as a public service institution by leveraging digital platforms, including its website, to enhance service delivery to stakeholders.
Meanwhile, the Director-General of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms, Dasuki Arabi, commended the top three agencies for taking proactive steps to maintain world-class websites.
Arabi said the websites were compliant with the Federal Government’s policy direction for effective and efficient service delivery to citizens.
He said the 2024/2025 ranking reflected the collective efforts of federal public institutions to promote transparency, accountability and openness in governance.
According to him, the outcome of the ranking also confirmed Nigeria’s alignment with global best practices in public service delivery.
Arabi further disclosed that the annual website ranking was introduced about six years ago.
He said that since its introduction, more public institutions had shown readiness to embrace reforms and align with the policy direction of the current administration.
