Apple has launched new MacBook Pro models featuring advanced processors tailored for demanding tasks such as photo and video editing, enhancing the brand’s appeal among creative professionals.
The new 14-inch MacBook Pro will start at $1,599, while the 16-inch version, equipped with the base M4 chip, will begin at $2,499. Higher-end models will feature the more powerful M4 Pro and M4 Max processors.
The upgrades come as customers increasingly seek computers with enhanced capabilities to support artificial intelligence tools. Apple’s AI features, accessible globally when devices are set to U.S. English, are available through a free software update starting Wednesday for Macs with M1 chips or later.
The initial set of tools, currently in beta with the upcoming macOS Sequoia 15.1, will see further feature rollouts in the months ahead.
Customers can pre-order the new MacBook Pro models beginning Wednesday, with deliveries and in-store availability expected from November 8. Earlier this year, Apple introduced a pair of new MacBook Air laptops featuring the latest M3 processors, starting at $1,099 for the 13-inch model.
The PC market is gearing up for a resurgence in 2024, driven by the increasing demand for AI-enabled computers, following a decline over the past two years post-pandemic.
Apple’s latest product announcements come shortly after the company introduced a colorful lineup of iMac desktop computers equipped with the M4 chip and new Apple Intelligence features.
