British Airways has announced the suspension of all flights to and from Tel Aviv until Wednesday, citing escalating military conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.
The move comes as Israel intensifies airstrikes on Hezbollah positions in Lebanon, leading several other airlines, including Virgin Atlantic, EasyJet, and Ryanair, to also cancel flights.
The ongoing hostilities have led to severe travel disruptions, with BA stating that the decision was made in light of the volatile situation in the region. “Safety is always our top priority, and we’re contacting customers to advise them of their travel options,” a BA spokesperson said.
The conflict has so far claimed 492 lives in Lebanon, with women and children among the casualties.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed Lebanese civilians, urging them to flee as the Israeli Defense Forces continue to target Hezbollah strongholds.
He emphasized that the war is not with the people of Lebanon but with Hezbollah, which Israel accuses of using civilians as human shields.
Tensions in the region continue to rise, sparking fears of a broader conflict, with thousands of civilians already displaced. Israel maintains that the military action is necessary to neutralize weapons aimed at its cities.
