The Lagos State Government has resumed the demolition of illegal structures obstructing the System 63b drainage channel in Sangotedo, Eti Osa, as part of its ongoing initiatives to mitigate flooding in the area.

This action is part of a broader strategy aimed at enhancing drainage systems throughout the region.

This was disclosed by the Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab via his official X account on Friday.

He stated that operatives from the Drainage Enforcement Department of the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources carried out the demolition.

Recall similar demolition efforts were executed along the System 157 drainage path and the Orchid Road channels in Eti Osa

The Lagos State Government is actively enforcing the demolition of structures encroaching on major drainage channels and their setbacks as part of its ongoing efforts to address severe flooding challenges in the area.

These actions aim to enhance the state’s drainage systems and mitigate the recurring flood risks that have become a critical concern for residents and infrastructure.
