Month-on-month, the April 2024 fare was 0.25% higher than the N88,964.86 average recorded in March 2024.
Regional fare analysis
The Nairametric report shows that domestic airfares in April 2024 were highest in the North West at N92,128.57, followed by the South West at N92,033.33. The lowest fares were found in the North-Central region, averaging N84,571.
Top 10 states with the highest domestic airfares
1. Kano State: Leading the list, passengers in Kano paid an average of N96,500 per trip, 4.75% above the North West’s average of N92,128.57.
2. Ogun State: With an average fare of N95,500, this was 3.77% higher than the South West’s average of N92,033.33.
3/4. Enugu and Rivers States: Both states saw fares of N95,000. For Enugu in the South East, this was 9.58% above the zone’s average of N86,700. For Rivers in the South South, it was 5.75% higher than the N89,833.33 average.
5. Kebbi State: Passengers paid N94,500 on average, 2.57% higher than the North West average.
6/7. Borno and Oyo States: With fares at N94,000, Borno’s rate was 4.76% above the North East average of N89,733.33, while Oyo’s was 2.14% above the South West average.
8/9/10. Kaduna, Kwara, and Taraba States: Each of these states recorded an average fare of N93,000. For Kaduna and Kwara in the North Central, this was 9.97% above the zone’s average of N84,571.43. For Taraba in the North East, it was 3.64% higher than the zone’s average.
