Residents in several districts in Lagos are witnessing power blackouts due to the failure of many electricity feeders supplying electricity.
This was disclosed in a statement by Eko Electricity Distribution Company on Wednesday, according to the Guardian.
According to Eko Electricity, the service disruption in Mushin, Lagos Island, Urban Prime, Festac, Ojo, Ajele and Orile districts has led to faults that have affected 7 transmission lines for the last two days.
“There has been a disruption in our services arising from various faults which have resulted in our inability to meet up with the required service level in the past two days,” Eko Electricity said.
In the statement, Eko Disco listed the affected districts as follows:
Mushin district, under the feeder of New Idumagbo, Ilubirion, the affected areas are Dolphin Estate Phase 2, Third Mainland Ring Road, and Ilubirin Estate.
In Ajah, under the feeder of Urban Prime, the affected areas are Lekki Epe Exp Road and Ogombo Road.
For the Frestac district, under the feeder of Festac 2, the affected areas are Lagos Badagry Exp Way, Old Ojo Road, and Dipe Otegbola Industrial Way.
For Ojo districts under the feeder of Festac 1 (ojo), the affected areas are Lagos Badagry Exp way, Isheri Olofin Road, and Kemberi Road.
While in orile districts, under the feeder of Adelabu 2, the affected area is Aljahi Masha Road.
For Ajele districts, under the feeder of Ajele, the affected areas are Adeniji Adele Road and Ring Road.
Nevertheless, the distribution company apologized for the inconveniences caused as a result of this development and said it was working to resolve this situation and prevent a recurrence.
