Telegram is introducing a number of enhancements, such as “view-once” video and audio messages as part of its January feature drop.
New read-time controls and the option to halt recording while delivering an audio or video message are also being added to the platform.
In September 2023, the app included “view-once” functionality for images and videos in one-on-one communication. The business is now adding audio and video messaging to this function.
In order to let the receiver hear the voice message or see the video message just once, users can touch the mic symbol to begin recording and then pull up to tap on the “view-once” option.
Telegram is also rolling out a feature that lets users pause and restart recording audio and video conversations from the same menu.
In one-on-one private chats, Telegram is now adding a feature that lets users see when the other person sees your message. This function has a settings option that you may disable.
Additionally, the platform is rolling out a few additional services for subscribers. Premium users may now choose to conceal their read time, but they can still view others’ read times that have been shared publicly.
Paid users may also select who gets to message them first. They have the option of choosing “My Contacts and Premium User” or “Everyone.”
Telegram introduced new capabilities last month to improve channel customisation and discovery. It added better calls with end-to-end encryption security later in the month, which uses less battery life on your phone.
Telegram also improved its bot to respond to messages, control quotations, responses, and links, and reply to other conversations or subjects.
