Elon Musk on Thursday said his artificial intelligence startup, xAI, is launching Grok, a competitor to ChatGPT, for social media platform X Premium+ users.
Without providing any additional information about the launch, he made the announcement in a post on X. He had stated last month that subscribers would be able to use Grok as soon as it exited early beta testing.
This is considerably Elon Musk’s latest move in transforming X into a “super app” that provides its users with a variety of features, such as peer-to-peer payments, social networking, and chat.
Musk established xAI in July in reaction to Big Tech’s AI initiatives, which he has criticized for excessive censorship and a lack of sufficient safety precautions.
