Ellah Lakes Plc has announced Hauwa Nuru’s resignation as a director as a result of her political appointment.
The Times reported that this information was made public in a formal declaration that was delivered to Nigerian Exchange Limited.
“Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq has appointed Hauwa Nuru to the position of Commissioner of Finance for Kwara State.
“Hauwa Nuru’s departure from her position as Director at Ellah Lakes will take effect on September 19, 2023, according to the official release.”
The business also revealed that it has started the search for a candidate to take her place on the board.
Part of the statement read: “Hauwa Nuru has resigned as a director of Ellah Lakes Plc (the “Company”) effective September 19, 2023, following her appointment as the Honourable Commissioner for Finance of Kwara State.
“Hauwa Nuru’s prestigious service to the Company is acknowledged by the board of directors (the “Board”) and management of the company.”
As soon as the Board confirms a replacement, more information will be made. The Company has already started the process of filling her seat.
The Securities and Exchange Commission has given Ellah Lakes Plc permission to use a rights issue to raise an additional N2.90 billion in capital.
Ellah Lakes is proposing a rights issue of 1,000,000,000 Ordinary Shares of 50 Kobo each at N2.90 Per Share, bringing the total amount of the capital to N2.90 billion, according to the official announcement signed by OAKE Legal (Company Secretary).
