CcHub CEO, Bosun Tijani has been appointed the minister of communications, innovation, and the digital economy.
Tijani’s appointment was on the list of ministerial portfolios released on Wednesday.
The 46-year-old CcHub CEO faced opposition from lawmakers over his scathing comments about Nigeria’s politics and politicians, but his nomination has signalled new heights for Nigeria’s tech economy.
Bosun Tijani, who co-founded CcHub, one of the continent’s most significant digital incubators, will now be responsible for advancing effective regulations to protect the environment he helped create. Tijani has overseen CcHub’s expansion into Kenya, Namibia, and Nigeria.
CcHub has pledged to support over 95 early-stage enterprises, particularly those who are bringing innovation to Africa’s healthcare and education sectors, with a billion naira growth fund.
