OpenAI announced that Android users would soon be able to download the ChatGPT app when it was made available for the iPhone in May.
The business has now revealed that users would start receiving ChatGPT for Android sometime next week.
Additionally, people can pre-register to receive it as soon as it becomes available through its Google Play listing, which is already live.
Even if the Android app initially only launches in the US, OpenAI has already increased the iOS app’s accessibility to new regions just a few days after its introduction, so other countries will most certainly soon be able to access it as well.
People can already access ChatGPT on Android through a browser, but the UI isn’t the best fit for mobile devices even though it isn’t very challenging to use.
A dedicated app has features that are exclusive to the platform’s users and an interface that is mobile-optimized. For instance, Siri and Shortcuts capability was made available to iOS users in June.
They can ask Siri to launch the app or build those Shortcuts, among other things. They can also create a ChatGPT prompt in Shortcuts and store it as a link to distribute to others.
