The $350m Grand Litora Railway project in Cross River State reached a significant milestone with the presentation of the topographical mapping for the first 104 km of the Calabar-Ugep route.
A statement from Rinehooke Investment Ltd, backing the project, confirmed that the mapping was presented at the Tinapa Free Zone Resort on New Year’s Day, underscoring the commitment of both Cross River State and Rinehooke Ltd to the project’s success.
Earlier this year, the groundbreaking ceremony for the 365 km railway line, designed to connect all the major cities in Cross River State, was performed by the state’s governor, Bassey Otu.
Commenting, the Founding Partner/Chief Executive Officer of Rinehook Investment Ltd, Nelson Elemi, highlighted the railway’s potential to transform tourism and boost regional development.

The railway project will feature main terminals in Calabar and Obudu, with substations located in Ugep, Ikom, and Ogoja.
