Zoom has officially unveiled Zoom Docs, its new AI-powered word processor, further expanding its presence in the office software market.
Zoom Docs is integrated with the company’s Zoom AI Companion, designed to enhance collaboration within Zoom’s video conferencing platform. The AI Companion enables features such as generating meeting summaries, creating reports, and drafting action lists.
With Zoom Docs, users can create, share, and co-edit documents in real-time without leaving the meeting window. This functionality also extends to mobile users, who can view and collaborate on documents without needing to sign in. Additionally, users can produce editable and shareable documents that include customizable meeting details, streamlining the distribution of relevant information.
The new tool allows users to initiate or schedule meetings directly from a Zoom Doc, facilitating easier coordination with colleagues. Documents can be generated, shared, and edited in real-time during meetings and later integrated into the Zoom Workplace suite.
Zoom Docs features a modular design, allowing users to build documents with flexible layouts, including images, tables, and bullet points to tailor content to their needs.
The service will be included with all paid Zoom Workplace plans for users of Zoom Workplace app version 6.1.6 or later. Basic (free) Zoom users will be able to create up to 10 shared documents and unlimited personal documents, though without access to the AI Companion.
