Zenith Bank ranked Nigeria’s best bank 

Zenith Bank Plc has been named Nigeria’s Best Bank at the 2025 Euromoney Awards for Excellence, the most prestigious national accolade in the industry.

The award was presented on Thursday in London.

In a statement, the bank said the recognition affirms its dedication to providing outstanding banking services, innovative solutions, and strong returns for customers and shareholders.

The Euromoney Awards for Excellence honour financial institutions that exhibit leadership, innovation, and resilience.

This year’s edition drew a record 770 submissions from top global banks, including HSBC, Morgan Stanley, Citibank, Barclays, Standard Bank, and DBS.

She dedicated the award to Zenith Bank’s customers worldwide for their continued loyalty, and to the bank’s founder and Chairman, Jim Ovia, whose visionary leadership and pursuit of excellence laid the foundation for its achievements. She also expressed gratitude to the Board for its guidance and to the staff for their steadfast commitment to building a world-class financial institution that will endure for generations.

Zenith Bank was ranked as the Number One Bank in Nigeria by Tier-1 Capital for the 16th consecutive year in the 2025 Top 1000 World Banks ranking by The Banker. The bank has also received several other prestigious accolades, including Bank of the Year (Nigeria) in The Banker’s Bank of the Year Awards for 2020, 2022, and 2024; Best Bank in Nigeria in Global Finance’s World’s Best Banks Awards from 2020 to 2022 and again in 2024 and 2025; Best Bank for Digital Solutions in Nigeria at the 2023 Euromoney Awards; and inclusion in the World Finance Top 100 Global Companies list in 2023.
