Zenith Bank, CFA Institute partner on capacity building

Zenith Bank Plc and the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to advance the development of human resources in finance and investment for the general advancement of the financial services industry in Nigeria.

The Punch reported that the MoU was signed at this week’s CFA Institute Africa Investment Conference by the Group Managing Director and CEO of Zenith Bank Plc, Dr. Ebenezer Onyeagwu, President and CEO of the CFA Institute, Margaret Franklin, and the President of CFA Society Nigeria, Ibukun Oyedeji, according to a statement released by the bank on Thursday.

During the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, Onyeagwu gave a speech in which he praised the CFA Institute and the CFA Society, Nigeria, for their excellent initiatives aimed at producing finance and investment professionals in Nigeria.

He promised that Zenith Bank would remain committed to collaborating with the CFA Institute and the CFA Society Nigeria in order to guarantee that aspiring finance and investment professionals receive the necessary assistance for the advancement of their careers.

“As a responsible corporate citizen, Zenith Bank is dedicated to advancing the social, cultural, and economic advancement of the community,” stated Onyeagwu.

He added that as a result, they keep funding activities and projects that will benefit the diverse public and stakeholders in the long run on a social and economic level.

“Thus, our partnership with the CFA Society Nigeria and the CFA Institute demonstrates our dedication to fostering professional excellence in Nigeria’s finance services sector.”

Additionally, he exhorted aspiring financial and investment professionals to maintain the greatest integrity standards. He emphasized the importance of making difficult yet high-quality decisions, building robust networks, and dedicating themselves to hard work for career success.

He continued by saying that individuals who meet the requirements to become chartered accountants and hold a CFA charter will be given an opportunity to work for Zenith Bank immediately.

Speaking about the Memorandum of Understanding, CFA Institute President/CEO Franklin reaffirmed the organization’s dedication to the professional growth of students and future professionals, asking, “Why do we invest so much in students when we do so much for them? since they will shape our future.

“Beginning with our CFA program, the CFA Institute’s objective is to lead the investing business with the highest standards of ethics, education, and professional excellence for the ultimate benefit of society.”

She expressed her gratitude to Zenith Bank for sponsoring the CFA Institute Research Challenge and the CFA Society Nigeria over the years. She also complimented the bank on being among the country’s best employers of CFA members. She conveyed her appreciation for Zenith Bank’s culture of excellence.
