The Redmi 13 and Redmi Note 13 series have played a key role in helping Xiaomi capture significant market share in India, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America, according to a recent report.
The report attributes Xiaomi’s rise as the second-largest smartphone brand in part to the seasonal drop in iPhone sales in August, a pattern seen annually ahead of Apple’s September product launches.
With the iPhone 16 series now announced, analysts expect the US-based tech giant to quickly regain its market position in the coming weeks.
Furthermore, Xiaomi has emerged as one of the fastest-growing smartphone brands in the first half of 2024, boasting a 22% year-on-year increase in sales volume. While growth is expected to moderate in the second half of the year due to base effects, Xiaomi is still on track to achieve strong double-digit growth for the full year.
Xiaomi is reportedly exploring the launch of a tri-fold smartphone, with a new patent suggesting the brand may follow Huawei’s lead in this innovative segment.
Additionally, the upcoming Xiaomi 14T series has garnered attention, with hands-on images and an unboxing video leaked online ahead of the official launch.
