Manufacturers in Nigeria would need to adopt the most recent technologies, according to the Director-General of the Nigerian German Chamber of Commerce, Marilyn Rapu, to address some of the issues the sector is now facing.
Nairametrics reported that Rapu said this on the sidelines of a meeting in Lagos between representatives of German IT businesses and Nigerian manufacturers.
She asserted that although the country’s manufacturers have endured years of infrastructure difficulties, technology will allow them to overcome some of these issues and scale.
She continued by saying that the event will present Nigerian businesses with the chance to speak with tech manufacturers face-to-face and purchase the technological solutions that best met their needs.
The chief financial officer at NASCON Allied Industries Plc, Aderemi Saka, agreed with Rapu that Nigerian manufacturers should start looking at technology that can assist them get past their existing obstacles rather than focusing on the problems they are now facing.
“Emerging technologies like automation, robots, artificial intelligence, and machine learning play a crucial and exponential role in guaranteeing that we can produce our products effectively and efficiently.
“All of these technologies have tremendous potential to increase manufacturing, and they will help Nigerian manufacturers in the future. I observe that many manufacturing firms use technology to get over many of the manufacturing obstacles we face in Nigeria,” she remarked.
