The Director-General of the Advertising Regulators Council of Nigeria, Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo, has emphasized the importance of marketing and ethics in nation-building.
According to Vanguard, during his speech at the 2023 Annual Conference of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria, he hinted that the sector is about to add more value to the Nigerian marketing business in order to promote good governance and economic growth.
Fadolapo emphasized the need for marketing efforts to abide by fundamental ethical standards during the conference, which had as its theme: “The Role of Marketing and Ethics in Nation Building.”
He emphasized the significance of creating enforceable standards of conduct that offer agreeable ground rules for the entire sector. According to him, such standards would guarantee that the interests of numerous economic sectors are protected because a failure in one field might possibly have disastrous effects on others.
Fadolapo urged the Nigerian marketing sector to support a number of measures intended to advance ethical marketing techniques.
He emphasized the crucial role of marketing in the creation and sustainability of economic progress while recognizing NIMN’s significant contributions to the expansion of Nigeria’s economy.
The group CEO of Prima Garnet Africa and former chairman of the Nigerian Advertising Regulators Council, Lolu Akinwunmi, stated that the Nigerian economy has continued to suffer major difficulties.
For sustained and inclusive economic growth, he said, “efforts that must diversify the economy, build infrastructure, promote good governance, and address especially youth unemployment are vital.”
“Despite the country’s enormous potential, which can be unlocked by its large resources, human capital, and entrepreneurial spirit, ongoing reforms and strategic policies are required to move the nation towards a more prosperous future.”
