The National Development Plan 2021–2025 is undergoing a midterm assessment by the Federal Government, according to the Ministry of Budget and National Planning, to make sure it is in line with its Renewed Hope Agenda.

The Punch reported that this information was provided by the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Abubakar Bagudu, during his remarks at the World Press Conference on the 29th National Economic Summit on Thursday in Abuja.

According to Bagudu, the objectives of the Nigeria Agenda 2050 and the National Development Plan 2021–2025 were intended to be accelerated with a double-digit growth rate and inclusive development through the implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda and eight Priority Areas.

“The Ministry is in the process of undertaking the NDP 2021–2025 midterm review in order to polish the Plan and make sure that the present Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda is incorporated into it.

“The Ministry will welcome innovative ideas from the Summit’s stakeholders to ensure their successful integration into the NDP 2021-2025,” the statement reads.

Using innovative policies, strong, functional institutions, smart investments in infrastructure, upskilling human capital, fostering entrepreneurship and innovation, and utilizing digital technologies, he continued, Nigeria may achieve sustained economic change and inclusion.
