Every year, WhatsApp adds a ton of new features. It appears that the platform is developing a function that will allow users to transfer files wirelessly. It appears that devices that are close to one another can use this capability.
This is in addition to the file-sharing features currently found on iPhones and Android cellphones. File sharing is available in the beta version of WhatsApp for Android (2.24.2.20), as seen by WABetaInfo.
To transmit or receive files, both smartphones need to have the People Nearby screen active. People’s gadgets won’t be visible to one another if they don’t have each other’s phone number close by.
Additionally, in order to initiate a sharing request, one of the two individuals wishing to exchange files wirelessly must open the People Nearby screen and shake their smartphone. It appears that the upcoming capability allows file sizes of up to 2GB. This functionality may be made available to users later this year; it is now undergoing internal testing at WhatsApp.
This file-sharing technique could only be helpful for transferring data between iPhones and Android smartphones.
