Virgin Atlantic to roll out free Starlink Wi-Fi across fleet

Virgin Atlantic is set to introduce some of its most significant passenger experience upgrades yet.

The U.K. airline will soon provide free Starlink Wi-Fi on all flights, add more premium seating, and launch a long-anticipated cabin refurbishment—part of a broader effort to enhance comfort and stay competitive in the global aviation market.

The upgrades were unveiled Tuesday night at an exclusive event in London, attended by select frequent flyers, media representatives, and senior Virgin Atlantic executives.

Virgin Atlantic is set to become the latest airline to offer free fleetwide Starlink Wi-Fi.

In partnership with Elon Musk’s SpaceX, the carrier will install Starlink radomes on every aircraft, enabling fast, reliable streaming for all passengers—regardless of cabin class or the number of devices onboard.

To connect, travelers will simply need a Virgin Atlantic Flying Club loyalty account.

Virgin Atlantic will begin installing Starlink equipment in the third quarter of 2026, with the full rollout expected to be completed by the end of 2027.

The move will make Virgin the first U.K.-based airline to partner with Starlink, though many international carriers have already adopted the service.

As the competition to improve in-flight connectivity intensifies, Starlink has rapidly positioned itself as the leading solution for airlines worldwide.

U.S. airlines including United and Hawaiian have announced plans to equip most of their fleets with Starlink, joining global carriers like Qatar Airways in adopting the high-speed satellite service.

With growing demand for better in-flight connectivity, more airlines are investing in faster Wi-Fi—and increasingly offering it free to all passengers.
