A major fire incident was recorded on Monday, December 30, 2025, at the Arena Market, also known as Army Arena Market, located in Oshodi, Lagos State.

The fire reportedly started earlier in the day and spread rapidly across several sections of the busy market, causing panic among traders and passers-by.

According to information gathered from the scene, no fewer than six containerised shops were engulfed by the inferno, with all goods stored inside the affected containers completely destroyed.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority confirmed that emergency response measures were immediately activated following the incident.

LASTMA stated that Lagos Rescue teams were promptly deployed to the scene and were actively engaged in efforts to contain and extinguish the fire.

As of the time of reporting, the full extent of the damage caused by the fire was yet to be officially determined.
