Union Bank of Nigeria has affirmed its commitment to empowering Nigerian children during this year’s Children Day’s celebration.
This disclosure was made by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Yetunde Oni during the bank’s special Barnyard Fiesta, themed ‘For Every Child, Every Right’ at its multiple-purpose Sports complex, held in Lagos, according to The Punch.
Kids of all ages enjoyed the video games, face painting, dance, and singing competitions at the Barnyard Children’s Fiesta. A talent show showcasing the children’s inventiveness was also organized as part of the event.
In her speech at the event, The MD/CEO of the bank reiterated the bank’s dedication to empowering and helping children in Nigeria.
She said, “As a responsible corporate organisation, we recognise our obligations to support the next generation of Nigerian youths, who are represented by our current set of intelligent and talented children, in achieving their full potential through effective and sustainable positive engagement, even at this early stage of their development. Our ultimate goal is to continue being lifelong partners in facilitating success for our future great Nigerian citizens, as well as advocates for empowering and encouraging positive growth in our communities all around.”
Parents and a few top bank executives attended the event, offering support and mingling with the diverse children participating in the entertaining activities planned for them.
