The United Arab Emirates government has lifted the restriction on visas for holders of Nigerian passports, although there are new requirements of a N688,000 non-refundable documentation verification fee before getting a UAE visa.
Before beginning the visa application procedure, all Nigerian travelers older than 13 must complete a mandatory document verification process, according to Nairametrics.
After a successful review, travelers must first get a Document Verification Number (DVN).
Nigerian travelers must check their documents at the Document Verification Hub, a specialized service created to authenticate and verify documentation necessary for visa applications. The required verification process is N688,000, which is non-refundable.
In the first step of the application process, the following information is required: given names, surnames, country of residence, date of birth, NIN, passport information (of a valid Nigerian standardized passport), email address, travel arrival and departure dates, and passport data page.
After providing the required information, the next step is the “Payment” section, which involves choosing a payment option from the available ones, including OptimusPay and Flutterwave.
By choosing the first option, the entire cost came to N688,000, which is made up of N48,000 for the 7.5% Value Added Tax and N640,000 for the document verification fee.
Within five working days of the application process payment, the applicant who holds a Nigerian passport should receive an email with the Document Verification Number (DVN), which acts as evidence that all of the papers provided are authentic. The applicant can move forward with their UAE visa application once the DVN is received.
