United States President, Donald Trump is set to host the White House’s inaugural cryptocurrency summit on March 7, 2025, underscoring his administration’s commitment to the digital asset industry.
The White House announced Friday night that President Donald Trump will deliver remarks at the gathering, which will feature prominent crypto founders, CEOs, investors, and members of the President’s Working Group on Digital Assets.
According to the statement, the summit will be led by venture capitalist and White House crypto czar David Sacks, with Bo Hines serving as executive director of the working group.
Meanwhile, former Yale football player, Bo Hines has taken on a key crypto role at the White House.
Shortly after taking office, President Trump signed an executive order establishing the working group, composed of key agencies, to advise on digital asset policy and assess the creation of a crypto stockpile.
The Treasury and Justice Departments, along with the SEC and CFTC, are part of the working group.
In the 2024 campaign, Trump, who once dismissed crypto as a “scam,” vowed to simplify regulations, appoint pro-crypto officials, support a stablecoin framework, and create a Bitcoin stockpile. After his victory, the industry donated millions to his inaugural committee.
Although not all of his pledges have been fulfilled, Trump’s policies and the summit represent a significant shift from the Biden administration’s strict regulations following the FTX collapse and other scandals.
Trump has also entered the crypto space himself, launching a memecoin before returning to office and backing his sons’ project, World Liberty Financial.
The White House statement added “The administration is committed to providing a clear regulatory framework, enabling innovation, and protecting economic liberty.”
