Transcorp director Helen Iwuchukwu steps down

Transcorp Hotels Plc’s Board of Directors has announced Helen Iwuchukwu’s resignation as Non-Executive Director.

According to Nairametrics, this information was provided in a corporate action that was submitted to the Nigerian Exchange and retrieved by Nairametrics.

An excerpt from the formal announcement, which was signed by the acting group company secretary, Funmi Olofintuyi, is provided below:

The Board of Directors of Transcorp Hotels Plc (the Company) “considered and approved the resignation of Mrs. Helen Iwuchukwu as Non-Executive Director with effect from July 27, 2023,” according to the letter sent to the Nigerian Exchange Limited and the investing public.

“The Board of Directors would like to extend its best wishes for Mrs. Helen Iwuchukwu’s future  endeavours and would like to express their sincere gratitude for her valuable contributions over the years.”

Mrs. Helen Iwuchukwu has been a practicing attorney for more than 25 years.

She is passionate about assisting firms in managing change, resolving challenging organisational challenges, and enhancing operational effectiveness.

Helen served in a number of positions before joining Consulting and Advisory, including Executive Director/Chief Operating Officer of Transcorp Hotels Plc., Group Company Secretary, and Company Secretary/Legal Adviser for Transcorp Group. She joined the group in 2006.

She practiced law in Nigeria and the United Kingdom before joining Transcorp.

Helen graduated from Abia State University with an LL.B (Hons) degree, was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 1993 (BL Hons), and also possesses an LLM from Middlesex University Business School in London. She is an employment law expert.

She is also a member of the Nigerian Institute of Directors.
