Nigerian passport has emerged the 50th strongest passport in world with regard to its relevance, access to countries and strength globally.
The Nigerian passport was placed 95th in the world in the most recent Henley Passport Index report of 2024, in addition to being “the 50th strongest passport in Africa.”
As stated in the July 2023 index report, those in possession of the green certificate are still limited to 45 countries where they can enter without a visa.
Seychelles, which is ranked 26th in the world, continues to hold the title of having the strongest passport in Africa. Additionally, its nationals have the option of acquiring visas upon arrival or traveling to 156 locations without a need for one.
Due to its inhabitants’ ability to travel to 150 countries worldwide without a visa, Mauritius now has the second-strongest passport in Africa. The nation’s travel document is ranked 30th in the globe.
Lesotho and Namibia share fifth place, with the passports from South Africa and Botswana coming in third and fourth, respectively.
Africa’s top 10 countries include Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, and Eswatini, ranked according to passport strength.
