Tinubu to address Nigerians on Democracy Day

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to address Nigerians on Friday as part of activities marking this year’s Democracy Day celebration.

According to a statement issued on Thursday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the nationwide broadcast is scheduled for 7:00 a.m.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will deliver a national address on Friday, June 12, in commemoration of Democracy Day,” the statement read.

The presidential aide said the address would be transmitted through the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Radio Nigeria.

“The speech is scheduled to air on the network of Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Radio Nigeria at 7:00 a.m.,” Onanuga stated.

He also called on broadcast stations across the country to relay the programme to ensure wider reach.

“All television and radio stations are requested to hook onto the NTA and Radio Nigeria network to carry the broadcast,” he added.

Democracy Day is observed annually on June 12 to commemorate Nigeria’s democratic journey and honour the sacrifices of individuals who contributed to the country’s return to civilian rule.
