Telegram has introduced a series of new updates to its messaging platform, enhancing sticker search, video sharing, and bot discovery.
The updates come as the company, which became profitable last year, continues to expand its features.
One of the major improvements is an upgrade to Telegram’s AI-powered sticker search. Initially launched in December with a library of 40,000 stickers, the feature now allows users to search from millions of stickers using natural language.
Telegram has also made video sharing more user-friendly. Users can now share video links with exact timestamps, similar to YouTube, making it easier to reference specific moments. Additionally, the update allows users to select a custom frame as a video’s cover photo and edit it with text, stickers, or emojis. Another improvement includes saved progress for videos, enabling users to resume playback from where they left off.
In an effort to improve bot discovery, Telegram is introducing a “Similar Bots” tab on bot profiles, similar to its feature for suggesting related channels. This update aims to help users find useful bot services more easily.
While Telegram remains a hub for legitimate content creators, it has also faced issues with pirated content. The company removed 15 million groups and channels last year, though not all were linked to piracy.
