Nigeria’s telecom sector is set for a major milestone as Africa Hyperscalers hosts the MVNO Nigeria 2025 summit on May 21 in Lagos, following the issuance of 43 new Mobile Virtual Network Operator licenses.
Titled “Unlocking Growth, Competition & Connectivity,” the high-level event will bring together industry leaders to explore the opportunities and challenges shaping the evolving MVNO landscape and its potential to transform connectivity and competition in Nigeria.
The summit will bring together top executives from MVNOs, mobile network operators, regulators, technology providers, and global experts to address the complexities of Nigeria’s rapidly evolving telecom landscape.
“This is not just another industry event—it’s a working session and a strategic convening of the minds driving the next wave of connectivity in Nigeria,” the organisers said in a statement on Monday.
“Aside from licenses, MVNOs in Nigeria need trust, clarity, and alignment with host operators, regulators, funders, and partners. This forum is designed to solve, not just to speak.”
Organisers say attendees will gain insights from international MVNO case studies that highlight how focused execution, market differentiation, and value-added partnerships have driven scale and profitability globally.
The agenda will spotlight underserved segments such as rural broadband, fintech inclusion, and enterprise connectivity, while also exploring the untapped potential of IoT services.
Featured speakers include Tony Emoekpere, President of the Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria; Dr. Ayotunde Coker, CEO of Open Access Data Centres; Olusola Teniola of ipNX; and Ayo Oladejo of DigiPractice. They will headline keynotes, participate in a thought-provoking panel, and engage in closed-door sessions focused on aligning policy, forging partnerships, and driving strategic direction in Nigeria’s MVNO landscape.
