The Taraba Government has started talks with a group of six Nigerian banks in order to obtain a facility of N150 billion naira for projects in the fields of education, agriculture, excellent healthcare service, energy, and transportation.
Vanguard reported that Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba announced this while overseeing the negotiations with bank representatives in Abuja.
As the new administration works to keep its promises to the state’s citizens, Kefas claimed that the banks play a critical role in helping his government by offering loans and bonds.
The governor reaffirmed to the banks the state’s determination to uphold its responsibilities to them and called on the bank representatives to be flexible and provide favourable lending terms and repayment schedules.
According to him, the loan would be included in the supplemental budget that would be submitted for approval to the Taraba State House of Assembly.
Kefas claimed that the 2023 budget outlines every project that has been assigned for completion, and “the administration is dedicated to accountability and transparency throughout the negotiation and transaction process.
“We are pleased to reassure you that, as members of the People’s Democracy Party, we have a stable political climate.
The banking institutions are aiding in the social and economic growth of Taraba by assisting the state’s administration.
Additionally, the program will foster economic expansion, boost general human well-being, and provide possibilities for our children, according to Kefas.
