T2 inks multi-million-dollar agreement with Knot Solutions

T2, formerly known as 9mobile, has entered into a multi-million-dollar partnership with India’s Knot Solutions to upgrade its Business and Operations Support Systems.

The agreement was unveiled by T2’s Chief Executive Officer, Obafemi Banigbe, during a signing ceremony at the GITEX Nigeria Tech Expo and Future Economy Conference in Lagos on Wednesday.

Banigbe said the collaboration aligns with T2’s four-phase transformation strategy, which includes stabilisation, modernisation, transformation, and growth.

He added that the company is strategically repositioning itself for a strong comeback in Nigeria’s telecommunications sector.

“This structured approach underscores our commitment to restoring competitiveness, driving customer-focused innovation, and enabling Nigeria’s digital future,” he said.

The T2 CEO described the agreements as a defining moment for the company, noting that they demonstrate strong investor confidence, particularly under the leadership of its Chairman, Thomas Etuh.

“T2 is poised to redefine the digital experience for millions of Nigerian customers.

“This is not just a system upgrade. It is a customer-first revolution that transforms how people interact with their digital world—seamlessly, instantly, and on their terms,” Banigbe said.

Banigbe further disclosed that T2 Mobile is expanding beyond traditional telecommunications, evolving into a platform offering voice, data, digital financial services, content, cloud solutions, and lifestyle products.

We are building an ecosystem where connectivity unlocks possibilities across entertainment, education, commerce, and financial empowerment,” he noted.

Knot Solutions’ Chief Executive Officer, Sumanth Konuru, noted that Africa’s telecoms market is evolving quickly, with BSS and OSS modernisation serving as a key driver of this transformation.

“Through our flagship cloud-native platform, RaptrDXP™, T2 can move beyond rigid models into a dynamic, hyper-personalised ecosystem. We are proud to join this journey,” Konuru stated.

He explained that the partnership is designed not just to improve efficiency but to deliver superior experiences—from real-time billing to personalised service bundles—ensuring T2 customers enjoy a smarter and more seamless digital journey.

T2’s announcement comes at a time when Nigeria’s telecom industry is experiencing renewed investments and infrastructure growth to meet the surging demand for data and digital services.

After previous struggles to stay competitive, the company is now driving an ambitious transformation agenda built on strategic partnerships with leading global technology providers.
