SUNU Health Nigeria Limited has been named West Africa Health Insurance Company of the Year at the Africa Brand Awards Nigeria 2026.

The award was presented on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at a ceremony themed, “Creating Iconic Brands in Africa: The Strategic Role of Business Leaders.”

SUNU Health, which operates across 17 African countries, received the award in the Health Insurance and Wellness category for its performance in healthcare delivery, customer service and innovation.

Its Chief Executive Officer, Dr Moyosore Olomola, also received the Most Responsive Health Insurance CEO of the Year award in the CEO Leadership category.

Olomola was presented with a Diamond Award for his leadership, responsiveness and efforts to strengthen the company’s workforce.

Commenting on the recognitions, Olomola attributed the awards to the collective efforts of SUNU Health employees, clients and stakeholders.

“It is both humbling and encouraging. This is because these accolades not only symbolize our continued dedication to excellence, innovations and satisfaction of customers but more than anything else, they stand as a mark of the amazing work done by our employees, the trust our clients have put in us and our stakeholders’ support in the healthcare industry,” he said.

Dr. Olomola said the company remained focused on improving access to affordable healthcare.

“As an organisation, we are determined to re-define the administration of healthcare and make sure that high-quality healthcare services remain accessible and affordable,” he said.

He added that the recognitions aligned with the company’s focus on service quality, operational excellence and stronger relationships with stakeholders.

The Brand and Corporate Communications Officer of SUNU Health, Samuel Olayemi, said the awards reflected the company’s focus on customer experience and its corporate culture.

According to Olayemi, the recognition of both SUNU Health and its CEO demonstrated the company’s commitment to leadership and quality healthcare delivery.

He said the awards would encourage the company to continue developing its services in Nigeria and expanding its impact across West Africa.

The awards ceremony brought together business executives, government officials, entrepreneurs and industry professionals to recognise companies and business leaders contributing to growth and innovation across Africa.

The latest recognitions add to SUNU Health’s recent industry awards.

In December 2025, the company was named Most Customer-Focused Health Insurance Company of the Year 2025 at the Customer Service Standard Magazine Awards in Lagos.

SUNU Health said it would continue to focus on affordable and accessible healthcare while strengthening its presence in Nigeria and the wider West African market.
