Student loan: How to apply for NELFUND

To apply for the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (student loan), applicants should visit the NELFUND portal, click “Apply Now,” verify their JAMB and NIN details, complete their profile with their BVN and school matriculation number, and submit their request for institutional fees or upkeep loans.

Under registration and verification, applicants should open the Nigerian Education Loan Fund Portal and click Apply Now.

They are required to provide their National Identification Number, NIN, and JAMB registration number.

Applicants must select their public tertiary institution, input their matriculation number, and verify their date of birth.

They should then create an account by entering their email address, setting a secure password, and clicking the verification link sent to their email.

Under completing the profile, applicants should log in and add their current phone number and residential address.

They are required to input their Bank Verification Number, BVN, and standard commercial bank account details, noting that microfinance or digital-only fintech wallets like OPay or Moniepoint are typically not accepted.

Applicants should save their completed profile information before proceeding to the loan request.

Under submitting the loan request, applicants should click Request for Student Loan and choose institutional charges (tuition) first, noting that an upkeep stipend loan requires them to apply for the institutional charges loan as well.

Applicants are required to upload necessary documents, such as their admission letter.

They should then review the declaration, agree to the terms and conditions, and click Submit Application.
