The Executive Director of Stanbic IBTC Pension Manager, Nike Bajomo, has encouraged employees and customers to gain the necessary knowledge to lead a comfortable life after retirement.

According to The Punch, Bajomo stated this during a one-day seminar/training session organized by the company for its retiring workers and clients.

She further emphasized the significance of having a will while highlighting the possibility of a good life post-retirement.

In her words, “We urge you to take advantage of the information the resource persons have given you. I assure you that we are here to help you to achieve your dreams. We want people to live their best life even in their post-work era and assure you that we will guide you in every step of your need.

“On behalf of the board and the management of Stanbic IBTC Pension managers, I will like to thank you all for making us your pension managers and we are honoured to have the opportunity to achieve your retirement goals.”

An occupational Health and Safety Management expert, Dr. Ehi Iden, gave a lecture titled ‘Managing health and well-being towards retirement’ where she advised attendees to make arrangements for activities that will enhance their quality of life after retirement.

In the doctor’s words, “Your life does not begin and end at workplace; there is life after work and you must know how to manage life after work. You need to work with retirement in mind. Retirement is like moving from known to unknown. But when you prepare yourself well enough, you will transit properly and get the best out of the rest of your life.

“There is a need for quick preparation for retirement based on psychological reorientation. So, what does the end work mean to you? The end of work is to gain leisure. You cannot get leisure until you learn to put things aside for your retirement.”
