Audio streaming platform Spotify on Sunday, experienced a significant outage that lasted approximately three hours, impacting over 40,000 users in the United States at its peak, according to Downdetector.com.
The service, which monitors outages using various sources such as user reports, indicated that by 3 p.m. ET (1900 GMT), fewer than 600 users were still experiencing issues.
“Everything’s looking much better now!” Spotify announced via a post on social media platform X, assuring users that the problem had largely been resolved.
During the outage, many users reported being unable to stream content beyond their recently played songs, with playlists failing to load and music randomly stopping, as reflected in comments on Spotify’s community page.
In the second quarter of this year, Spotify reported an increase in paying subscribers, reaching a total of 246 million globally.
