Spotify is now extending its artificial intelligence-driven personalised music function, “DJ,” to Nigeria and other countries, marking a significant expansion six months after its debut in North America.
The AI-powered DJ makes personalised music recommendations to users and also provides spoken commentary in a robotic voice.
The “music” feed section of the Spotify mobile app is where you may access this feature. It contains amusing exchanges and contextual notes, mentioning particular songs and artists that users have previously adored.
DJ is a customised AI companion that is so familiar with you and your musical preferences that it can determine what to play for you. For fans and artists, DJ offers a fresh and unique method of communication.
In essence, an AI-powered DJ works like a host of a radio show, selecting songs that will appeal to each listener specifically.
The DJ feature was first made available in the US and Canada in February, then three months later it quickly extended to the UK and Ireland. Spotify is now opening up access to premium users in around 50 locations even though it is still in beta.
Nigeria, Sweden, Australia, New Zealand, Ghana, Pakistan, Singapore, and South Africa are among those mentioned. In the recently added markets, the AI DJ experience is now only available in English.
