The Nigerian Senate is currently conducting a screening process for the acting Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Olayemi Cardoso and four others nominated by President Bola Tinubu as deputy governors.
Recall that AM Business reported that Olayemi Cardoso assumed office as the acting CBN governor last Friday following the departure of the then-acting governor, Folashodun Shonubi, who has since been replaced by Cardoso until confirmation by the Senate.
The nominees for deputy governor positions include Mrs. Emem Nnana Usoro, Mr. Muhammad Sani Abdullahi Dattijo, Mr. Philip Ikeazor, and Dr. Bala M. Bello. The Senate’s scrutiny of these key positions in the nation’s central bank is a significant step in the appointment process.
