The Senate, on Tuesday, confirmed the appointment of six persons nominated as Commissioners for the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission.

This confirmation followed the presentation and consideration of the report of the Senate Committee on National Planning and Economic Affairs during plenary.

The Chairman of the committee, Senator Yahaya Abdullahi, who presented the report, said that the committee was confident that the nominees possessed the requisite knowledge for the roles.

He expressed the committee’s conviction, stating: “We are convinced of their suitability,” he said. The confirmed nominees include Bello Wamakko (Sokoto), Hadizatu Mustapha (Borno), Senator Marafa Abba (Taraba), Ahmed Hassan (Adamawa), Bob Inafa (Bayelsa), and Gboyega Oladele (Osun).

In his remarks, Deputy Senate President, Jibrin Barau, who presided over the plenary, said that the appointment of the nominees was a call to serve the nation.
