SEC unveils redesigned website to enhance investor protection

New SEC regulation to enhance transparency in bank recapitalization

The Securities and Exchange Commission Nigeria has unveiled its redesigned website, aimed at boosting digital engagement, regulatory transparency, and investor protection.

Announcing the launch on Monday, the Commission said the upgrade reflects its drive to modernize operations and expand access to vital financial information.

The new platform features a mobile-friendly design, streamlined navigation, and consolidated resources for investors, market operators, and the public.

The upgrade is designed to simplify user access while underscoring the Commission’s oversight of Nigeria’s capital markets.

“This digital advancement is a significant step in building a more transparent and accessible Commission,” said SEC Director-General Emomotimi Agama. “It enhances our engagement with the capital market and the investing public, and reflects our dedication to continuous improvement in service delivery and communication.”

The Executive Commissioner for Corporate Services,
Samiya Usman stressed that the redesign is more than just aesthetics. “By simplifying access and logically organizing content, we have created a powerful platform that supports our mission to develop and regulate a fair, efficient, and transparent capital market,” she said.

The SEC urged stakeholders to explore the platform and use its features for regulatory updates, market news, and investor services.

The website launch coincides with the Commission’s intensified clampdown on fraudulent investment promoters preying on Nigerians’ quest for high returns.

So far in 2025, the SEC has flagged several platforms for running illegal schemes without registration or regulatory approval.
