The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has clarified that the shortage in the supply of Premium Motor Spirit also known as PMS recently being experienced in some parts of the country is a result of logistics issues and that it has been resolved.
In addition, it also made it clear that the price of petrol remains unchanged.
This was disclosed in a statement via its official X by the Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye on Thursday.
The statement reads “The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) wishes to clarify that the tightness in the supply of Premium Motor Spirit currently being experienced in some areas across the country is as a result of logistics issues and that they have been resolved.
“It also wishes to reiterate that the prices of petroleum products are not changing.”
Furthermore, It called on Nigerians to stop panic buying as there is sufficient fuel in the country.

Thousands of commuters in the Federal Capital Territory, Nasarawa, Niger, Gombe, Sokoto, and Anambra states, due to the scarcity of PMS were left stranded at various bus stops.
This has led to an increase in transport fares in the affected states, as the few transporters who had petrol raised their rates.
