Samsung has announced the launch of its Galaxy AI features to a broader range of devices through the upcoming One UI 6.1 update, scheduled for a late March release.
The expanded compatibility will include the Galaxy S23 series, S23 FE, Z Fold5, Z Flip5, Tab S9 Ultra, Tab S9+, and Tab S9.
Initially unveiled with the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung’s AI features are now set to be accessible to a wider user base, aligning with the industry trend of tech companies making AI-powered functionalities more widely available.
In the imminent update, users can anticipate the incorporation of Google’s innovative “Circle to Search” feature, enabling searches from any point on the phone through gestures like circling, highlighting, scribbling, or tapping.
Another addition is the “Live Translate” feature, offering voice and text translations for phone calls. The “Interpreter” feature will generate text translations for real-time conversations.
The update will also introduce “Chat Assist,” empowering users to adjust the tone in messages and perform text translations in 13 languages using Samsung Keyboard. Additionally, the “Note Assist” feature will enable users to generate summaries and translate notes, while “Browsing Assist” will provide quick summaries of news articles.
Updates in editing capabilities include the introduction of “Generative Edit,” allowing users to resize, reposition, and realign objects in photos. The “Edit Suggestion” feature will facilitate quick photo polishing, and the “Instant Slow-Mo” feature will generate additional frames for slow-motion videos, enhancing the capture of special moments.
As AI-powered features become increasingly prevalent across the tech landscape, Samsung’s decision to expand accessibility underscores its commitment to providing users with advanced and versatile functionalities across a diverse range of devices.
