Reddit launches translation feature for posts

Reddit introduces policy to safeguard user privacy

Social network, Reddit has disclosed that it is now possible to translate posts on the platform into eight other languages.

“We’ve also started experimenting with translations to the comments on iOS and Android, so a few of you may notice this experiment too. Soon, your entire conversation experience on Reddit can be multilingual!,” Reddit said in an announcement.

Languages that are supported include English, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, and Swedish; these are primarily European languages.

According to the company’s release, posts on supported platforms will now include a translation option above them. By selecting see original after selecting translate, you can give the translation a rating and return the post to its original language.

Reddit also said that articles can now be translated and that currencies will be phased out on September 12.
