Qatar Airways announced Wednesday that its flights will stay temporarily suspended because the country’s airspace is closed.
“Qatar Airways will resume operations once the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority announces the safe reopening of Qatari airspace,” the Gulf carrier said in a post on X.
Air travel across the Middle East is still heavily restricted because of ongoing safety concerns linked to the U.S.–Israel war with Iran, which has led many countries to close or limit their airspace.
Dubai-based Emirates announced its flights will remain suspended until 23:59 UAE time on March 4, while Abu Dhabi’s Etihad said all scheduled commercial operations will be grounded until 14:00 UAE time on March 5.
