Polaris Bank names Chinwe Iloghalu new Executive Director

Polaris Bank has appointed Chinwe Iloghalu to its executive leadership team as Executive Director, Lagos and Corporate Banking.

According to Nairametrics, Chinwe will work for Polaris Bank Limited, a Tier II Nigerian private limited liability corporation that offers banking and other financial services to the country’s citizens through retail, SME, commercial, corporate, and government MDA banking.

At top-tier Nigerian banks like Zenith Bank and Fidelity Bank, Chinwe has held leadership and senior management/general management positions and has a proven track record in corporate banking, innovation, and technology.

She also has a wealth of knowledge in the electronic and digital banking ecosystem while serving as general manager and regional head at Fidelity Bank before being hired.

Having worked in the banking sector for 25 years, she has significantly impacted business banking relationships by forming strong networks, utilizing advantageous linkages in the ecosystem, and maximizing returns and profitability for important stakeholders.

At the University of Benin in Edo State, where she studied Industrial Chemistry, she completed her secondary education. She graduated from Pan-Atlantic University with a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Media & Communications.

At prestigious institutions where she pursued these courses, including Harvard Business School, London Business School, London School of Business and Finance, Columbia Business School, Lagos Business School, and TEXEM Business School, among others, she actively participated in a number of courses with a focus on Leadership, Negotiations, Branding, and Digital Marketing.

After completing the required NYSC National Service in 1996, she began her career in banking as a Youth Corper with Equitorial Trust Bank in Dugbe, Ibadan. She then began working with Ecobank Nig Plc as an entry-level employee for four years, earning experience at the company’s head office, Ikoyi branch, and Apapa branch. Later, she changed to Zenith Bank, where she spent a total of 17 years working in the Commercial Banking Group and the Energy Group.

Following her employment with Zenith Bank, she took on the position of General Manager at Fidelity Bank, acting as the Regional Bank Head for the Victoria Island and Lekki Region.

She has contributed significantly to business banking partnerships throughout the course of her 25-year banking career by developing strong networks, utilizing advantageous linkages in the ecosystem, and generating maximum returns/profitability for important stakeholders.
