The Tertiary Education Trust Fund has given Plateau University in Bokkos a grant of N1.2 billion.
This was disclosed in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Saturday in Bokkos by the university’s vice chancellor, Prof. Benard Matur where he said that the grant is the normal and zonal intervention for 2023.
“We are truly appreciative of TETFund’s decision to allocate us more than N1.2 billion as a normal and zonal intervention for 2023.
“The money will be used to build a hostel for women with a capacity of 1,000 people and to expand the information and communication technology unit.”
Matur stated that 64 members of the university’s academic and non-academic employees funded by TETFund are now on scholarship both within and beyond the country.
In addition to the 17 already offered academic programs, the vice-chancellor noted that 25 new ones had been added to the school.
He clarified that both undergraduate and graduate levels would provide the newly established curriculum.
“The opening of our School of Business Studies, which will provide more than two dozen programs at the diploma, postgraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels, has already been finalized,” he added.
Matur pledged to support the university’s high academic standards, saying that by doing so, its graduates would be better able to compete in the larger society.bg
