The governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has declared that his administration will provide over 1,000 retirees in the state a whopping N3.1 billion in benefits in the upcoming week.
Sanwo-Olu made this announcement on Friday on X. He also stated that his administration’s goal was to make families happy.
He claimed that more than 1,000 retirees will be impacted by the payout, which will take place under the Lagos Contributory Pension Scheme.
The governor went on to say that his administration has paid approximately N60 billion to over 17,000 retirees so far.
He also added that he is proud of the accomplishment and that his administration places the high focus on the well-being of the state’s pensioners.
He also praised state employees for their contributions and said they will keep working harder to advance Lagos’ growth.
