OpenAI expands image generator access to all users

Artificial intelligence company OpenAI has disclosed that its path to a cash-flow positive is until 2029, Bloomberg News reported on Wednesday, citing a person familiar with the matter.

The artificial intelligence leader is contending with steep expenses associated with chips, data centers, and skilled talent required for the advancement of its cutting-edge AI systems, according to the report.

By 2029, OpenAI projects its revenue will exceed $125 billion. Driven by the strength of its paid AI software, the company forecasts more than tripling its revenue to $12.7 billion in 2025, Bloomberg reported.

In September 2023, Reuters reported that OpenAI expected its revenue to surpass $11.6 billion in 2025. The company’s 2024 revenue is projected to reach $3.7 billion, a figure corroborated by the Bloomberg report.

Since launching its ChatGPT chatbot more than two years ago, OpenAI has expanded its subscription offerings for both consumers and businesses. As of February, its paying business user base surpassed 2 million—more than doubling since its last update in September.
