OpenAI, Oracle, Nvidia, Cisco partner for UAE’s largest AI hub

OpenAI, Oracle, Nvidia, Cisco, and other tech giants are collaborating on a groundbreaking artificial intelligence infrastructure project in the United Arab Emirates.

This initiative, known as Stargate UAE, aims to establish one of the world’s largest AI data centers, marking a significant expansion of AI capabilities beyond the United States.

“AI is the most transformative force of our time,” said Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang in a release Thursday. “With Stargate UAE, we are building the AI infrastructure to power the country’s bold vision – to empower its people, grow its economy, and shape its future.”

During his Middle East tour, President Donald Trump and the U.S. Commerce Department announced multiple new AI partnerships, including the UAE Stargate project in Abu Dhabi.

Developed with Emirati firm G42, the project will cover 10 square miles and have a 5-gigawatt capacity.

Under the deal, OpenAI and Oracle will oversee a 1-gigawatt compute cluster developed by G42.

The project will feature Nvidia chips, while Cisco Systems will handle the connectivity infrastructure.

The companies plan to launch an initial 200-megawatt AI cluster next year.

In a statement, OpenAI said that the project “reinforces OpenAI’s commitment to strengthening U.S. infrastructure while helping allies gain access to transformative AI responsible and securely.”

The latest project is the first international extension of the Trump administration’s multi-billion-dollar joint AI infrastructure initiative announced in January, involving OpenAI, Oracle, and SoftBank.

Initially, the companies pledged $100 billion to the project, with an additional $500 billion planned over the next four years.
