OpenAI CEO Sam Altman on Friday wedded his partner Oliver Mulherin in a beachside wedding in Hawaii.
Speaking to NBC News, Altman confirmed the news of his marriage following the appearance of images from the union on social media. The images displayed Altman and Mulherin at the location with perhaps a dozen people and palm trees all around them.
The pair, who have mostly kept their relationship under wraps, made one of their first public appearances together at a state dinner organized by US President Joe Biden at the White House for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Mulherin is an Australian software engineer, according to NBC. He attended the University of Melbourne where he studied computer science, and he has been employed ever since 2014. He left Meta in November 2022, and he has been working for two years. He has also worked for the IOTA Foundation and SPARK Neuro.
Mulherin loves large families, according to Altman’s statement to The New York Times last year, and the couple intends to start a family soon.
Sam Altman has been in the limelight for months following his abrupt termination from OpenAI on November 17 of last year, which alarmed both staff members and investors.
